I was devastated to learn from the "Belly Dance Legacy" tribe that the lovely Serena passed away in NYC last night.

She was a good friend of my mother's when they played the Egyptian Gardens together over the years in Greektown.

I posted some comments about her there and I know that all who love old belly dance records will feel sad to know that the "East of the Suez" girl is gone. It was a particularly lovely album cover and I own two copies.
