I have the version of this song from "Recorded Live at Feenjon" - and I love it, so much that I'm planning to use it in a performance. However, ideally, I'd like a version with less audience reaction in the recording (ie. less/no clapping and especially less/no applause at the end). I know that this is a looooong shot, but does anybody in Radio Bastet land have the Feenjon group playing Mustapha without audience audible?

Mon, April 14, 2008 - 7:20 AMHey Esther! I'm pretty sure they split up ages ago. Manny Dworman died in 2004: archive.chazzanut.com/jewish-...868.html
Wow, I just discovered there are a couple videos of them on YouTube (posted by Manny's son)! -

Re: Feenjon Group - Mustapha
Mon, April 21, 2008 - 1:07 PMHi! And there was a discussion about "Feenjon" nightclub memories by a lot who used to go there over in Belly Dance Legacy Tribe which I am a member. When my friend Eric Peterson posted a photo of the drummer Ali Hafid (also deceased now) on his blog it ended up growing into a topic over there and there were many great memories shared. I think it is still up if you are interested to read that.
There is a Mustapha version set up like a dance routine on an old George Abdo cd. That's the only one I've seen lately.

Mon, April 14, 2008 - 7:17 AMHey Steffi! I honestly have never run into a non-live version of this tune by the Feenjon Group. I'll keep my eyes and ears open, though. (Sorry for the late reply!!!)
